Dipper fledglings are out
On Good Monday, the young dippers left the nest box. In the days that followed, they could still be observed upstream and downstream, gradually being lured away by the adult birds.
While the adults continued to feed their young, it was fascinating to see how independent the fledglings already were: every day moving a little further away from the nest and becoming increasingly skilled at finding food in the rushing waters.
It is always a pleasure to witness a successful brood and rearing. And it is perfect not to miss the moment when the young birds take the leap into their own lives. Now, just a few days later, they are completely self-sustained, while the adults - hopefully - are going to start the second brood of the season very soon.
